Crested Butte - Vacation Rentals & Ski Lodging

Crested Butte Mountain Resort is one of those ski resorts that opt to buck the trend of what many of us have come to expect from a mountain resort these days. Now that’s not to say that this slice of heaven should be overlooked, rather just the opposite. In Crested Butte, you’ll find real mountain locals that won’t mind showing you around their picturesque mountain town or go skiing with you to show you their favorite spots.

The town, while primarily serving the locals that live there year-round, still has shopping, dining and nightlife that can make any vacation that much more enjoyable. There are plenty of local specialty shops, offering you the ability to take a piece of Crested Butte home with you, and galleries, where you can check out some local artistic creations. Moreover, you can find just about any cuisine you might be seeking, from fresh sushi (flown in daily) to artisan, hand tossed pizza. And, what’s more, the town boasts over 30 bars, from wine to dive, creating a truly full-fledged nightlife scene.

Considered a to be an adventure ski destination, the slopes of Crested Butte cover the entirety of the green, blue and black spectrum, culminating in the extreme offerings of the North Face and Headwall. However, in order to get to these slopes, you’ll have to be willing to travel just a little further since Crested Butte isn’t located off of any major highways or interstates, but that tells you just how special this place is, tucked away in the vastness of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. That’s probably why it is known to locals and vacationers alike as “The Last Great Colorado Ski Town”. A charming, Victorian style community in itself, Crested Butte sits near the base of Mount Crested Butte, a mountain with unique features that make it a mountain-goer’s dream.

With 121 runs serving all abilities, the 1,165 skiable acres (472 hectares) that Crested Butte Mountain Resort has to offer are most certainly one-of-a-kind. 16 different lifts provide access to all the important points on Mt. Crested Butte, allowing you to enjoy all that the mountain has to offer, including some conveniently placed bowls that could not be more perfect if they had been planned and engineered by man. The longest run, Peak to Treasury, runs 2.6 miles (4.2 kilometers) and runs nearly the entire length of the mountain, giving you an all-encompassing view of all that is Crested Butte.
