Snowbird - Vacation Rentals & Ski Lodging

We can tell you right now that Snowbird is where you’ll want to spend your next winter vacation. The only way that wouldn’t be true is if you don’t like amazing fresh powder, magnificent terrain, epic views, world-class lodging accommodations and amazing dining selections wrapped in a family friendly atmosphere. Whether you’re a family looking to get away while still enjoying each other’s company or a die-hard winter sports enthusiast, Snowbird is a destination that will leave you smiling.

Having opened in 1971, Snowbird is a year-round resort located in the heart of the Wasatch National Forest. With over 40 years of history to its name, visitors have long appreciated the long ski season, in fact the longest in Utah that the resort offers its guests. Lodging accommodations are not quite as plentiful as many other resorts, though what it does have to offer more than makes up for that. There’s just something about being able to sit in the hot tub outside your lodging during a cold mountain sunset while staring at the snow-capped peaks that makes you happy.

Perfect for families or individuals looking to get away without breaking the bank, there are plenty of reasons to make Snowbird your next destination. If you’re looking to shake it up a bit from the usual day of skiing, checkout a guided snowcat adventure, some exciting snowmobiling or a peaceful snowshoe hike. The culinary options at Snowbird range from casual to fine dining, and with 15 restaurants to choose from, you’re sure to find something delicious to satisfy your hunger pangs. As for shopping, don’t forget to check out one of the various shops around the resort to grab some Snowbird keepsakes to bring home with you. Of course, after a few days on the mountain, you’ll want to distress, so make your way to The Cliff Spa for massages that will relax your sore muscles and have you back on the mountain in no time.

Sitting at the head of Little Cottonwood Canyon along with neighbor resort Alta, with which Snowbird shares Mount Baldy, not mention access points and lift tickets, Snowbird receives an average snowfall of 500 inches (1,270 centimeters) due largely to the lake-effect enhancement from the Great Salt Lake. Add that to the 2,500 skiable acres (1,012 hectares) and you’re likely to find yourself in a winter paradise that is seemingly always filled with fresh powder while it snows more often than not. The 89 runs are serviced by 13 individual chairlifts and cater to skiers and snowboarders of all skill levels, with 27% of the terrain designated for beginners, 38% for intermediate levels and 35% for expert skiers. What’s more, skiers can take advantage of Mineral Basin, the back bowl that Snowbird shares with Alta. Unfortunately, due to Alta’s “Skier’s Only” Policy, snowboarders are not allowed in Mineral Basin, but the rest of Snowbird is fair game.

So, if Snowbird sounds like a place you would like to spend your next vacation, or if you’d like to get some more firsthand insight about the resort and all it has to offer, please give us a call. Our friendly, knowledgeable Destination Specialists are standing by to assist you.
